Big Brothers Big Sisters Event this Saturday at Taylorsville Lake

The Lt. Governor's office is sponsoring a fishing event for Big Brothers and Big Sisters starting at 10 am this Saturday. I'm getting conflicting info on Opossum Ridge or Settlers Trace.....either way, they are looking for volunteers to bring their boat and take some of the kids fishing for a few hours. If you want to participate, be there.........Greg Marshall was also contacted and intends to have some of the KBFN folks there to help along.

This past weekend Kaoru O'Bryan won a tough BFL tournament out of Carrollton Ky with 4 fish that weighed just over 11 pounds! Those are some good sized river fish! Way go Kaoru.

Just to show how tough it was, 20th place was 4 1/2 pounds! I missed the lock and was too late to weigh the two tiny fish I had.

AJ in 2nd place after Day 1, Stren Series on KY Lake

Our home boy Alan Johnson is in 2nd place in the Co-Angler division after Day 1 in the Stren Series on KY Lake. AJ had a 5 fish limit that tipped the scales at an even 20lbs. He is less than 2lbs our of 1st and 2lbs in front of 3rd.

Lets cheer him on as he is really starting to shine.

If anyone (boater) going to the State Tournament would care for a partner to pre-fish with on Friday, I'd be able to leave Louisville late Thursday evening to head down and would love the opportunity to do some pre-fishing.

Just let me know as soon as possible so I can make plans.

I'm planning on staying at the Days Inn in Kuttawa like I always do, if anyones interested in sharing a room. I'll be making my reservations in the next couple of days.

KBF Members please look at the Wildcard List before filling out the online entry form for the Wildcard Tournament.

On the Wildcard List... The Top 23 persons on the Co Angler List are already Qualified for the State Tournament. On the same list, the Top 20 Anglers are Qualified for the State Tournament.

Only eligible members that can participate in the Wildcard Tournament is positions 21 thru 37 on the Angler...

Hey, I know everyone has been on pins and needles wondering where I have been and if I made it back safe or not. Well I am pleased to let you know that I am back in the good Ole' USA and no worse for the wear. Sure would have liked to fished with you at Rough but after getting home at 9:30 Thursday night from Tanzania I had to catch a flight to CA at 7:00 Saturday morning. Back home at 11:00 last night and now I need an update on how this weekend went.

Well we had a great time looking at all the wild animals and then it was time to climb the mountain. Alex and I had been hiking 5 nights a week for 3 months preparing for this but nothing can get you ready for the mountain. I thought we were in good shape but obviously we were not. Everything went well until we got above 15,000'. The air gets so thin you can't breath, you have a headache most of the time and if you are lucky you don't get sick.
